More Jojo tanks for the community

WITH THE water crisis still upon Vryheid, the AbaQulusi Municipality, with the help of the local Afriforum have been putting up more Jojo Tanks in various areas in town.

Areas that recently received their tanks include Bhekuzulu, and Sasko.

According to the DA’s Phumlani Thabede, three Jojo tanks have been placed in Bhekuzulu.

“We have specifically asked community members with space in their front yards to allow us to put these tanks there so that we can have people supervising these,” said Thabede.

Community members are encouraged to look after the tanks and ensure that vandals do not go near these, as there have been many occasions where the taps were stolen.

Bhekuzulu and Sasko community members are also encouraged to volunteer their time at the different water points.
