Acting municipal manager, Bongiwe Mnikathi, confirmed that water supply will be shut-down from Monday.

In a public notice issued to the Vryheid Herald, AbaQulusi municipality apologises for the inconvenience but explains that the shut-down is necessary due to the ongoing drought. Water supply will only be restored if the Klipfontein Dam is sufficiently filled in the next rainy season.

Residents will have to collect water from one of the water tanks that have been installed and can refer to the map to locate the tanks that are closest to their homes.
