Louis grew up as a fun loving, albeit at times naughty lad who made his pocket money capturing snakes and selling snake venom. Louis’ most pivotal moment as a young man was meeting the love of his life, his now wife of 65 years, Enid. Louis started off his career as a building apprentice. Soon his hard and honest work ethic led him to start his own successful building contracting business, Brockmann & Tschirpig.

Louis was a loving husband, and incredible father to his 2 daughters Estelle & Carmen and late son Hilmar. His strong values of fairness, kindness and compassion (together with his fantastic story telling ability and his incredible sense of humor and playfulness) has been the inspiration behind both his children’s as well as his 6 grandchildren’s lives. Even more impactful to all who knew him, Louis was a man after God’s own heart. At age 55 Louis sold his business and home, and with Enid followed Jesus’ call to become an evangelist and pastor in Msinga for over 10 years (read more at https://www.blurb.ca/ebooks/456669-following-god-s-call). Even into his 80’s Louis continued to preach the word of God and love of Jesus.

Louis will be remembered as a man of principle and kindness, a man who loved his family as well as having a love for all people. Most of all Louis will be remembered as being a man of God.

Louis, Dad, and Opa we thank you for all you have taught us, and for all the love and happy moments you have shared with us. You will continue to be in our hearts forever. We miss you dearly. We love you. We are sad to say goodbye, but we are also happy as we share in your joy of entering the presence of our Father in Heaven.
