Give a fur-baby a forever home
Despite the resignation of staff and committee members, and ongoing public scrutiny, a dedicated few continue to keep the SPCA running, providing refuge for abused, abandoned and neglected animals.

Despite the resignation of staff and committee members, and ongoing public scrutiny, a dedicated few continue to keep the SPCA running, providing refuge for abused, abandoned and neglected animals.
Babsie Slabbert has taken on the responsibility of field officer at the SPCA and is keen to apply for the position of trainee inspector in the near future.
Residents can contact her on 072 763 4768 to report cases of animal abuse or neglect.
During a visit of the SPCA facility last week, some appalling stories of abuse came to light.
One of the dogs was rescued from a group of children who were snipping off pieces of the dog’s hair and flesh, seemingly for fun, until SPCA officials intervened.
Another of the dogs became too depressed to eat and was starving to death after the owner sold her puppies while they were still too young.
In a third case, SPCA officials had to leopard crawl for 10m through a storm drain in order to rescue a litter of puppies.
All of these animals have boundless love and loyalty to give to someone willing to take them into their home and heart.
Visit the SPCA and whisk your fur-baby off to its forever home.
