A tragic accident near the Scheepersnek area claimed seven lives this morning when two motor vehicles and a truck collided.
Five people are said to have already been removed out of the cars and were already deceased when paramedics arrived.
The sixth died while medics were trying to resuscitate them and the last person is said to have died on the way to hospital.
KwaZulu Private Ambulance’s Frikkie Bekker described the scene as total carnage.
“Those people were literally torn to pieces. I am still having a hard time trying to get that image out of my mind,” said a still very shocked Frikkie.
According to Frikkie, four of the paramedics that attended the scene are going for counselling following the trauma they experienced.
“This is something you never want to remember and is so hard to deal with no matter how hardcore you are as a paramedic,” said Frikkie in conclusion
