BREAKING: Vryheid police vehicle goes over KwaBhanya Bridge into river
Witnesses said that the driver seemed to be badly hurt.

Traffic is currently moving slowly on the KwaBhanya Bridge after an SAPS long-base bakkie went over the bridge this morning.
It is currently unclear how the bakkie, which was transporting two police officers who were heading towards town from the Hlobane area, swerved out of its lane, smashed through the bridge barriers and ended up in the river below.

Witnesses said that the driver seemed to be badly hurt around the chest area as he could not speak at all, while the passenger seemed less severely injured and could still speak, although he was also still rattled.
Both officers have been transported to Vryheid Hospital.
