WATCH: Vryheid’s potential radio personalities try their hand at a live broadcast

The course included teaching these locals about sourcing news

Locals that were selected as potential presenters for Vryheid’s upcoming radio station underwent a skills training this week to get them ready.

At least 29 locals including AbaQulusi Community Radio (ACR) board members attended the three day course that was held by the National Electronic Media Institute of South Africa (NEMISA).

The course included teaching these locals about sourcing news, conducting interviews on radio as well as many other skills that would help them become better radio presenters.

With the assistance of Doc Fick, Head of Broadcasting Department for Nemisa and broadcast radio lecturer Bongiwe Kubheka, ACR is certain that the skills that the locals acquired during the course has better prepared them for the road that lies ahead as radio hosts.
