Residents fed up over abnormal load ‘parcels’

Abnormal loads are not permitted to travel over the weekends, as stipulated by the Department of Transport.

They come into town hauling massive abnormal loads, but the loads they leave behind are the ones causing concern for residents.
Residents of Fouché Street, Strathmore Park have had to deal with another massive problem created by these loads – the mess they leave behind. Abnormal loads are not permitted to travel over the weekends, as stipulated by the Department of Transport.
There are exceptions though, with certain Saturdays and Sundays deemed legal.
On the other weekends, however, drivers pull over the vehicles wherever they can on a Friday, and only leave on the Monday morning. In Strathmore Park drivers have found a new camping spot for those weekend waits: a park adjacent to the airfield on the corner of Fouché and Victoria Streets.
Residents in the area have complained that drivers have camped out in the park, made use of local prostitutes and dumped their rubbish in the area before leaving again.
More shockingly, they have even left faeces in a bag, hanging from one of the trees, before getting on with their trip.
Once the drivers have moved on, not worrying about the terrible mess they leave behind, residents have to deal with the dumping, the dirt and the dirty deeds left in a bag hanging from a tree.
