Top cricket clinic comes to town

The highest quality of cricket coaching, along with sound ethical values, has contributed to the creation of our future stars

The Cricket School of Excellence (CSE) will be hosting its inaugural Cricket Clinic from November 22 to 24 at Egerton Primary School’s Agar Field.

Leading the way will be CSE founder Ryan Maron. Ryan played through the ranks of Western Province (provincial) cricket and was selected to represent Western Province from 1997 to 2000. He continued to represent WP ‘B’ up until 2004. His coaching experience includes successful stints as head coach at Rondebosch Boys’ High School and several prominent clubs in the Netherlands, United Kingdom and Denmark. Ryan is currently head coach at the University of Cape Town.

These clinics are held at numerous venues around the country every school holiday during both winter and summer. They cover a broad range of cricket topics, including general knowledge and playing etiquette. On registration, each participant is given a CSE shirt and cap, and a water bottle. A Powerade drink is also provided on each day of the clinic. Parents can come on the last day for free coaching and enjoy the prize-giving, where each child receives a certificate and a SHM Magazine.

The holiday clinics cover all aspects of the game for ages four to 14. Coaches work to a specific programme and cover batting, bowling, fielding, general knowledge and etiquette of the game. The clinic will run from 9am to 2pm for its duration.

Since 1999, the CSE has grown to become one of South Africa’s leading cricket schools. Through its partnership with prominent business organisations, the cutting edge technical and behavioural training that has influenced over 12,000 young cricketers has been available. The highest quality of cricket coaching, along with sound ethical values, has contributed to the creation of our future stars both on and off the field.

The CSE is on a ‘good wicket’ and is building a world-class system that has never been seen before in SA. “We are growing our footprint in the country, based on quality service delivery, our franchise system, focused marketing strategy and world-class website. Already in 2013 we have launched new regions in East London, Hermanus and Pietermaritzburg” says the CSE.
