Dirty water from taps

Parents were worried about their children, wondering if the tap water would make them sick if they drank it

People living in Acaciavale and Smartiesville were furious when they saw dirty water pouring out of their taps recently.
It’s obviously not pleasant to get home from work and be greeted by discoloured, filthy-looking water.

This resulted in people having to go to nearby shops to buy water to drink and cook with. Parents were worried about their children, wondering if the tap water would make them sick if they drank it.

One resident’s plans to wash her clothes when she got home from work came to nought when she saw the brownish water filling up her washing machine. “How can uThukela deliver such filthy water to the community? How do they expect us to survive when we can’t do basic household chores?” said the outraged resident. “I certainly did not want to give my clothes a brown rinse,” quipped the resident.

At the time of going to press, uThukela had not commented on the matter.
