Sewage polluting river

Raw sewage is leaking into the Bushman's River at Lambert Park.

To think of the Bushman’s River as the lifeblood of some communities after seeing the sewer spill leaking into it, is disgusting and saddening. The leak seems to “settled in” as a deep furrow transports the foul mess into the river. A reporter from the Estcourt News noticed the foul overflowing contents spilling into the river two weeks ago. A supervisor from Uthukela District Municipality was notified of the leak on Monday, November 11 but there was no response. A week later and the river is still being polluted. A second call was made on Monday, November 18 with promises being made that it would be attended to as soon as possible, let’s hope so!
