Mandela memorial smacked of poor organisation
Blame was shifted to the service provider of the screen, and electrical problems in the hall itself.
Approximately 20 mourners arrived at the Farmers Hall yesterday, only to be greeted by a blank screen.
The Newcastle Municipality informed residents that there would be a memorial service held for the late Nelson Mandela, but no one from the municipality had allegedly even bothered to attend.
Furthermore, it was reported that there would be a condolence book to be signed with messages for Madiba.
There was also a big screen that would have shown the memorial service at FNB Stadium, but sadly the screen was not working.
According to residents, the entire affair lacked organisation, as later the signing of the condolence book was moved to the Town Hall.
