New Shoprite branch opens up

The old taxi rank was abuzz with activity on Thursday as a new Shoprite branch opened its doors to the public. A large crowd of shoppers waited outside for the new store to open its doors at 8.30am.

The store managers spoke to their staff before finally opening up and letting eager consumers stream in. To show their jubilation, the staff sang songs and danced outside the store.

The shop is very close to the taxi rank, which allows commuters easy access to the premises. Municipal Chief Whip Themba Ngubane spoke to the staff and shoppers at the opening, and also cut the red ribbon to officially open the new Shoprite branch.
