IT appears there have been attempts made to fill some of the potholes that plague the streets of Vryheid, notably so in sections of President Street, Mark Street and South Street.
These wretched potholes, which seem to be surfacing ubiquitously across Vryheid and have been for quite some time now, have recently been filled with what appears to be bits of gravel, sand and even brick.
From a positive perspective, the feeling of driving amidst craters on the moon has been somewhat diminished by the makeshift filling of the offending potholes.
However, it is certainly not a lasting solution to the ongoing problem, when one takes into account the consequence of a few heavy rains.
From a 'glass half empty' point of view, one must question the point of it all and wonder when something more permanent will be done to improve the condition of our roads.
