Great support for Nardini Convent’s gala

Nardini had a successful gala on Friday, February 21.

Thanks to Mrs Combrinck for all the hard work in training our children.

At Nardini we allow all the children to develop the skill of swimming. At the gala, fun is more important than winning, which is just a bonus.

Our children had lots of fun and were quite well behaved. The atmosphere was very pleasant.

We would like to thank the parents who came to support their children. They came in numbers even though it was a working day.

We would also like to thank the staff and Pearl Dyer who worked hard in various places.

Our sincere gratitude also goes to Fr Victor who opened our gala with a prayer as well as to Cameron Boock and Damian Dyer for lending a helping hand. The winning house, as usual, was Bosco followed by Michael and then Francis.

The following children received trophies: Most improved Girl Swimmer: Tiana Mitchell; Most improved Boy Swimmer: Sisekelo Hadebe; Best Junior Girl: Zama Sibeko; Best Junior Boy: A tie between Yanetso Selepe and Asanda Basi; Individual Medley Girls: Nonduduzo Zwane and Individual Medley Boys: Sinakho Hlela (Sinakho also broke two records).

Senior relay was won by Michael House. Swimmer of the day: Medinah Khan. (She also broke one record)

Victrix Ludorum: Nonduduzo Zwane and Victor Ludorum: Sinakho Hlela.

We would like to thank Mrs Paruk, our lady of honour, for availing herself to hand out prizes to the winning children and for helping at the tuckshop.
