CONGRATULATIONS to the following athletes who qualified on Saturday, February 22 in Ulundi to go through to the Natal Athletics in Durban: Pamela Chukwu 1st 400m and 1st 100m hurdles; Gerhard Smit 1st 200m and 1st 110m hurdles.

Spar Girls’ Hockey Challenge: The 1st team girls played their matches on Saturday at Ferrum.

The results were as follows: Sarel Cilliers 1 – 0 VHS; Amajuba 0 – 1 VHS; Newcastle High 1 – 0 VHS and Pongola 2 – 1 VHS.

Cricket: Congratulations to the following boys who were called back on Saturday for 2nd round trials: M Machado; K Taylor; K Meier; S Beneke and A Vorster.

Rugby: The VHS first team rugby, newly selected, played a pre-season game against Ermelo on Saturday, February 22.

Although they lost 22 – 10, they gained valuable experience. Remember: Experience is what one gains when one does not stop trying.
