Vryheid High School – Poetry Evening, “thoughts find words”
Even with the Nashua Rugby Week on the horizon, Vryheid High School pupils still find time to how their softer sides with art and poetry.
MULTI-TALENTED VHS: Poetry is when thoughts find words.
On Wednesday, March 19, we hosted our newly established annual ‘Poetry and Art’ evening.
The learners are given the opportunity to read their own poetry and display their art works from photos to drawings and paintings.
All who attended were enriched by the poetry written by these young people.
The boys, especially, impressed us with their thoughtful and sensitive poems.
Our sincere thanks to all who participated or helped in any way and specifically to the Grade 10E girls, who ‘catered’ for the event! Well done all!
Link Seed U/15 Rugby Tour: The team travelled early on Friday, March 21, to Greytown.
The u/15 boys played the main game on the day and came short 7-10. The following morning the boys faced Thomas Moore and won the match 34-5.
The boys must be complimented on their great discipline and the way they conducted themselves on and off the field. Well done!
Hockey vs St Dominic’s: On Wednesday, March 19, the hockey players travelled to St Dominic’s to play several games. With the exception of the 1st Boys’ team, all of the teams played well and won their games. Results: u/16 3 – 0; 1st Girls 1 – 0; 2nd Boys 3 – 0 and 1st Boys 1 – 2.
Netball Tour: On Thursday, March 20, the netball girls had the privilege of spending their long weekend at Bergventure in the Drakensberg.
All of the girls enjoyed it thoroughly and can’t wait to go back there again.
Not only did they experience the wonders of nature, but they also deepened friendships, overcame fears and gained valuable experience.

Toegang is R10 per volwassenes en R5 per leerder. Aangesien daar beperkte parkering is, is motortoegang R50.
Daar is parkering met voertuigwagte om die skool beskikbaar.
