Glimpse of hope for Tornado victims

Staff and Management of ABI went to Bambazi High School in Emmaus on Friday morning to donate items of necessity. The school suffered huge damage during the recent storm that left close to 280 families in the area affected.

The tornado that ripped through the Emmaus hospital and Bambazi High school left the community of Bergville and Winterton shocked and several school children hurt while running for cover as the storm ravaged the area. Two school blocks have been badly damaged including the admin block and other school infrastructure as well as books and their printing machine.

When ABI saw the article in the Ladysmith Gazzette and the devastation it caused they decided to give a helping hand to the school. They donated a Riso CZ 100 duplicating machine worth more than R 27 000 and exercise books worth more than R 30 000.” Every time you buy a coke product a certain percentage goes to back to the community, this way we would like to give back to the people” explains Rajen Motheram from ABI.

The school Principal, Mr Sipho Nkabinde, Ward 2 councillor, Mr Hadebe,thanked the ABI staff members and expressed their heartfelt appreciation to members of ABI. The school learners demonstrated their appreciation  by singing and dancing. All the school children and the parents who were there to witness this were given refreshments which everyone enjoyed.
