Great event for a rural running club

The Nyanyadu Athletics Club recently hosted their 5km and 10km runs, with Sipho Mnyandu coming home first in the 5km event with a time of 17m03s.

He was followed by Zama Lunga (17m04s) and Nkosikhona Khulu (18m48s). Samekelisiwe Thusi was the first lady home in 32m04s, followed by Nokubonga with a time of 32m05s.

Piet Sibiya was the first home walker home, followed by Shaddin Hamas. Thulile Ngema took the honours in the ladies’ walk event. Mlamuli Mdlalose won the people with disability event. Bonginkosi Zwane won the 10km race in 31m37s, followed by Sphamandla Nyembe with 31m40s

. Pinkie Hodi won the ladies’ category in 46m25s, with Nompumelelo Buthelezi second with 1h38m. Mandlenkosi Mhlanga was the first veteran home. Organiser Thandwangubani Nxumalo thanked all the sponsors who helped to make the event a success.
