Elandslaagte family’s home gutted by fire
Firefighters did their best to extinguish the blaze as quickly as possible, but it was in vain, as all the families’ worldly goods succumbed to the ravenous inferno
The Khanyile family, who live in Elandslaagte, are devastated after losing all their worldly belongings in a fire that gutted their home recently.
The fire broke out during the day while the Khanyile family were out visiting.
When they heard their house was engulfed in flames, they immediately rushed back to see what they could do, but it was too late. All they could do was stand and watch as the ferocious flames tore through their residence.
Everything was destroyed…
Firefighters did their best to extinguish the blaze as quickly as possible, but it was in vain, as all the families’ worldly goods succumbed to the ravenous inferno.
Luckily, nobody was injured.
“It’s heartbreaking to watch your home being destroyed and know that you can do nothing to stop the destruction,” said man of the house Mr Khanyile. He added that, “We worked very hard and saved money to build our home and buy furniture. Now look at the terrible state we’re in; everything ruined!”
The Khanyile family are still in shock, but hope to find another home soon.
They are also praying for clothes and food to be somehow provided to them.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage.
