Acaciavale Primary School (APS) hosted a ‘Save the Girls’ campaign at the school on Friday morning in the wake of the 234 girls who have been kidnapped by militants in Nigeria.
The pupils gathered in the assembly area, where they made playing cards to do with bringing the kidnapped girls home safely and giving their perspective of the situation. In addition, poems and songs were rendered by some of the children.
The little ones who didn’t really understand what the campaign was all about could just sit quietly and listen to the informative speeches and lovely poems. An anti child abuse message prevailed on the day, calling for all children to be treated with respect.
After an interesting morning programme, the pupils went back to their classes to carry on with normal lessons.
