One of the main reasons the general meeting in the district was held was to make taxi owners aware of the increasing taxi fee in July

The Estcourt and Uthukela District Taxi Owners Association held a general meeting on Thursday, April 24 at the town hall.

Many taxi owners that were present expressed their unhappiness about the E-toll registration.
One of the main reasons the general meeting in the district was held was to make taxi owners aware of the increasing taxi fee in July.
During Umtshezi Municipality’s Mayor Bongani Dlamini’s address, he mentioned that the rank is a huge contribution to decrease crime within the community.
He then announced that CCTV cameras are operational and have assisted hugely in preventing crime since being in operation.
As taxi’s are known to be a “problem” on roads, this committee is willing to rectify matters and change people’s perception of the taxi industry.
The association is willing to change systems so that they may be fair, balanced as well as benefit the community.
They have done just that, as the association have made hearty donations of school shoes to various schools in and around Estcourt, and volunteered free scholar transport.
