More taxi-related protests expected this morning
Questions are now being asked as to why only Steadville commuters are protesting

It is expected that the Steadville-based protesters will try and and block most routes around Steadville again today. A large police contingent has been deployed near the Dunlop factory.
Police plan to keep the Helpmekaar Road open at all costs.
Reports of a large group of men armed with traditional weapons has been reported in Bloukrans Road.
Questions are now being asked as to why only Steadville commuters are protesting.
The violence may not be only linked to the tariff increase, but run deeper than that, says a source who asked not to be named.
“Steadville commuters are objecting to ‘outside’ taxis being used to transport them – thus taking control of pricing away from the community. The current price increase is the ‘straw that broke the camel’s back’.”
