Seven die in horrific smash
This section of road has been the scene of major accidents in recent years with straying cattle and wandering pedestrians making driving conditions difficult.

Seven people, including four children, were killed in a horrific collision between two vehicles on the Dundee/Pomeroy road shortly after 7pm last night.
The collision was between two cars and occurred on the notorious stretch of road past the old Consol Glassworks towards what is known as Stratford farm. This section of road has been the scene of major accidents in recent years with straying cattle and wandering pedestrians making driving conditions difficult.
Paramedics from KZN Emergency medical services responded to the incident in several ambulances and response vehicles and when they arrived on scene found the two severely damaged wrecks and multiple patients.
The paramedics from KZN EMS and a local private ambulance service assessed the patients and found that six people had sustained fatal injuries, tragically this included four children.
A seventh patient later died in hospital. There were a further eight people injured, three of whom had sustained critical injuries. There remaining five patients had sustained lesser injuries but were still in a serious condition, requiring urgent emergency medical care.
The team of paramedics worked frantically and treated the injuries that the patients had sustained during the collision, before transporting the patients to Dundee hospital, where they were handed over to the facilities medical staff who continued the treatment started by the paramedics.
