Kleuterzone visits Klein Spoortjies
Among the glitter, wigs, lashes and winged liner, a brave boy told the crew how he would never play for Bafana-Bafana and would rather be an ‘ambulance man’. Giggles and smiles became the order of the day.
Christian-based pre-primary TV series, Kleuterzone paid Klein Spoortjies Newcastle a special visit on July 28. With plenty of “I love you mommy and daddy’s” in the air, the children couldn’t contain their excitement when the cameraman was near.
Klein Spoortjies Principal, Marti van Zyl said, “The SAVF is an organisation with more than 300 ‘projects’ throughout South Africa. A prize giving is held in each province once a year for projects that have done exceptionally well in terms of functionality and income. Klein Spoortjies won Project of the Year award in KwaZulu-Natal this year.”
The Suid-Afrikaanse Vrouefederasie (SAVF) is an organisation where child and youth care comes first. The organisation also aims to combat poverty, enhance lives and provide support systems for the elderly and disabled.
Winning the SAVF Project of the Year put Klein Spoortjies on the map when Kleuterzone contacted them just two months ago.
Kleuterzone highlights the spontaneity and honesty coming from the mouths parents would usually wash with soap.
Anthonie and his crew captured the essence of what it meant to be a child; long before the daily grind, bills and breakups.
As the little ones looked into the red light and told the camera what they wanted to be when they grew up, the gravity of life and responsibility sank in.
