AFTER a hugely successful evening of raising much needed funds and playing their hearts out at Dee’s Restaurant and Bar, for the plight of children and animals in need of assistance, Black Whiskey managed to raise a whopping R4 120-00, which was divided equally between Vryheid SPCA and Child Welfare Vryheid.
The funds were handed over to representatives from both charities on Monday evening, August 11, at Dee’s, by Black Whiskey.
“On behalf of Vryheid SPCA, thank you so much for what you have done.” said Angela Crous, who was present at the handover, accepting the donation for Vryheid SPCA.
Heather and Mary, from Child Welfare Vryheid also expressed their gratitude to the band and accepted the donation on behalf of their organisation.
“Thanks to everyone,” said frontman, Phillip Taylor, “we hope to see more and more faces at every show we play.”
On Friday night, August 15, Dee’s will be hosting ‘Larry and the Lurkers’ from 7:30pm.
Larry Amos, is no stranger to Vryheid, having played at Ella Mera earlier this year and demonstrating to local music fans why he is considered to be possibly the best blues guitarist in the country.
