The competition will take place in Durban on September 22 to 25 at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre (ICC).

On August 21 and 22, pupils from Hope High School took first place in a debate in Cedara in Howick.

Ziphumelele Mazibuko (first speaker), Ayanda Ndlozi (second speaker) and Basanda Shabangu (third speaker) from Hope High School formed the winning team.

Ziphumelele was the second-best speaker in the province and she will be representing KwaZulu-Natal in the Provincial Round competition with four other best speakers from other districts.
