CWP cleaning staff ‘making things worse’

The area is scattered with rubbish once again

While residents welcome work done by the Community Work Project (CWP), some say that in certain instances, it makes things worse.A resident from Ephangweni who did not want to be named said that the CWP staff who pick up litter in the area are sometimes guilty of this.

He says that once the litter is packed into a refuse bag, the staff leaves the bags behind, prompting dogs to rummage through the litter. The area is scattered with rubbish once again. The resident says he has requested that the CWP staff leave the refuse bags close to his home where they can be retrieved but his suggestion was not heeded.
“Is this cleaning or making things worse? Please help,” he commented.
