Bass drops as tyres burn

Although a booming bass was the focus of the day, local and national drifters showcased their talents on the tarmac in a cloud of smoke and burning rubber.

It would seem that age really has no boundaries when dealing with the exciting world of motorsport.

This was proved during the Northern Natal Motorsport (NNMS) Cansa Relay For Life sound competition.

Although a booming bass was the focus of the day, local and national drifters showcased their talents on the tarmac in a cloud of smoke and burning rubber.

Local oval track rookie, Tiaan Buys joined his father, Boet and brother, Johan on the deck as well, proving he was a whizz behind the wheel even when his tyres were degenerating behind him.

Max My Ride drifter, Prishu Singh showcased his talents in conjunction with his six-year- old son, Jordon, who despite his minute size, had the audience in awe with his thrilling performance.

Avinash ‘DJ Bigz’ Jaggarnath provided entertainment for the audience, as he seamlessly let the music flow from the speakers.

Alltogether 25 awards were awarded, recognising the best in the sound competition and Show ‘n Shine categories.

This event signalled the apparent re-birth of NNMS, and club chairman, Faizel Cassim was convinced the club would continue to grow and the community as a whole would develop a passion for motorsport.
