Successful wage negotiations at Buffalo Coal – management
This will come as a great relief to the area, as Buffalo Coal is the biggest employer in Endumeni.

Buffalo Coal has announced the successful conclusion of the annual wage negotiations.
Kevern Mattison, Buffalo Coal’s General Manager, told the Courier that the agreement for wage increases and other conditions of employment for 2014/15 was signed by management and employees (represented by AMCU) on October 14. “Management would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to all parties involved in the process and who assisted with the negotiations, especially given the tough market conditions currently being experienced, coupled with the weak state of the coal business in general, both domestically and internationally,” Mr Mattison said.
“Buffalo Coal has had to endure numerous challenges over the last few months, and is encouraged by the realistic and honest approach shown by employees so that these challenges can be overcome with input from all our stakeholders.”
