Accolades for Newcastle High School’s academics

On Tuesday, October 21, Newcastle High School honoured their pupils at the annual academic prize giving.

It was the highlight of the year for most of the Grade 12 pupils who were rewarded for their hard work, dedication and commitment. There were 45 awards up for grabs, with the top achiever, Thilisha Pillay, scooping eight of the awards.

The atmosphere became tense when it came to time announce the prefects for 2015. After what felt like hours, the announcement was made and the pupils’ hard work throughout the year finally paid off.
