On Saturday night, via their Twitter account, the SAPS are quoted as saying:

Since the beginning of last week, the police have questioned 13 people in connection with the killing of Bafana Bafana captain and goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa.

While police have not officially confirmed that the arrested Ezakheni suspect is linked to the murdered goalkeeper, the timing of the tweet and the breaking of the story on our site could be the surest sign that it is true.

It is believed he is one of the three people who is undergoing questioning, as he resembles the identikit released by police.

Up until us going live with our story, only “one” person was officially detained by police.

The Ezakheni man is likely to be released or charged once an identity parade is held sometime today (Monday).
