5 tips for gun safety
It is important that the safety guard is on whenever the gun is not being used
Where children are concerned, accidents happen all the time… And when guns are in the picture, the consequences can be deadly. After a recent rise in accidental shootings in our country, here are a few ways of practicing good gun safety.
1. Always ensure that the chamber is empty when the gun is not in use.
2. The gun’s ammunition should be locked away in a safe place that is inaccessible to children.
3. It is important that the safety guard is on whenever the gun is not being used.
4. Regardless of children being in the house, it’s much safer to completely remove the gun magazine (which stores the bullets). That way, no accidents can happen – if the magazine is not in the gun, it won’t be able to fire.
5. Lastly and most importantly, do not point your gun at anything you do not want to shoot. It is not a toy and can cause serious damage!
