Water cuts – notices keep flowing

Newcastle Municipality has issued another notice of water cuts, this time on November 30.

This follows a notice issued regarding possible water cuts on November 23.

Contractors intend to link up a new water main to the existing main which supplies water to the Show Grounds. The work is part of the widening of Allen Street.

Work on the new main will start continue for 12 hours on November 30, from 7am until 7pm. However, the existing main will be closed by 5am, to allow for water drainage.

The areas that will be affected are the Central Business District, central Newcastle, Arbor Park, Newcastle Mall, Blackrock Casino, Karbochem, Riverside Industrial Area, Vlam industrial area, Fairleigh, Lennoxton, Paradise and Fernwood.

Residents are urged to collect water for household use before the cut off time.
