Street lights are burning for a reason during the day

Do not fret - the Municipality has not disregarded power saving.

If you are wondering why the street lights have been burning for a couple of days on Handley and Ryley Streets – do not fret – the Municipality has not disregarded power saving.

Mark Donaldson, municipal electrical manager, said ”

“The street lights at the Handley street park opposite Pro Nobis  has a cable fault which has a very high resistance which makes it very difficult to locate, as it only trips after thee days . The guys have left them on 24 hours so that the fault breaks down so that it can be located and repaired . Unfortunately it does look like a waste of power but if we don’t find the fault then it becomes a problem for residents.”
