Cyclist vows to track down hit and run culprit
The man is in the process of tracing the vehicle that struck him while he was cycling on Allen Street on Saturday morning.
A cyclist has promised to find the person responsible for the injuries he sustained after being knocked off his bicycle on Saturday morning.
According to a post on Facebook, the man was out on a training ride when he was struck by a fast-moving metallic blue BMW that was allegedly racing another vehicle.
“This morning at approximately 5.10am while out on a cycle training ride I was hit from behind, on the left side of the road in the left lane,” read the post.
Reportedly, the cyclist was part of a group cycling on Allen Street, and was hit just past the bridge by Farmers Hall.
The man sustained injuries to his right arm, right hand and right buttock and was treated in hospital.
The post continued with a solemn vow to find the driver of the BMW:
“The impact broke the left-hand door mirror off the vehicle… I now have these pieces in my possession and through the barcode and serial numbers on them, I am in the process of tracing the vehicle VIN number through BMWSA which will lead me to the owner of the vehicle.”
