Wembezi Flyover is an accident hotspot

Vendors have also set up stalls alongside the road, causing more obstructions for motorists

The Wembezi Flyover was the scene of yet another collision on Monday at about 11am. A car and truck crashed at the intersection. The extent of the injuries are unknown.

Last Friday another collision was reported at the Wembezi Flyover, this time involving a police vehicle and a car. This accident was reported at 7.15am and according to the accident details, the police vehicle allegedly failed to stop at the Stop street and collided into the side of an approaching vehicle. Two people sustained minor injuries.

After Monday’s accident a local businessman commented that the Wembezi Flyover was becoming an accident hotspot. He said that drivers who stop to pick up passengers were often a cause of these accidents. The businessman added that vendors have also set up stalls alongside the road, causing more obstructions for motorists.
