Mystery robbers’ quick getaway
A domestic worker who was working on the premises at the time, did not notice the suspects until it was too late. The suspects caught her unawares and blindfolded and tied her up in the same manner as the home-owner.
A pensioner was robbed at knifepoint at her home in Fernwood on February 6. It is alleged three men were involved.
Apparently, the perpetrators ambushed and slightly injured the victim before subduing and restraining her with duct tape.

A neighbour noticed the commotion in the victim’s home and summoned the police.
The suspects ransacked the house for jewellery, money and other valuables before escaping moments before police officers arrived.
The suspects, as is also common in similar incidents, seemed undeterred to carry out these crimes in broad daylight. Police claimed the incident occurred around midday.
The traumatised victim gave a statement to police and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Due to conflicting statements and inaccurate profile descriptions, officers could not immediately begin searching for the suspects and no arrests have been made yet.
