Update: Robbery victim to be laid to rest

64-year-old Mr Satyaprakash Mangru, beloved husband and father of 3, will be laid to rest today (Tuesday) after he was tragically killed in a housebreaking at his home yesterday morning.
His body will lie in state at his home in Kandahar Avenue and will thereafter be taken to the local crematorium at 3pm.
According to police, neighbours of an elderly couple residing in Kandahar Avenue heard screams coming from the property at about 9.40am. Police were called and within minutes, officers were searching the property.
Inside the house, they found the body of a 64-year-old man, as well as an injured woman who was subsequently hospitalised with a broken arm. The exact cause of the man’s death is unknown at this stage. However, postmortem results should be available by this afternoon (February 17).
“The only information we have available at this time is that the couple were attacked by a group of 2 or 3 suspects,” say police. They robbed the couple of a cell-phone and laptop.
Police are currently investigating a case of house robbery. No arrests have yet been made.
