Three light motor vehicles were involved in an accident in Murchison Street today (Saturday)

The bumper-t0-bumper collision took place at the intersection of Murchison and Albert Street.

2 children were injured in the crash and transported to hospital by paramedics. EMRS and ER24 responded to the scene.

The fast lane heading towards Engen Garage was closed while Public Safety officers took down the details of the crash.

The road was cleared by a breakdown service and traffic was soon moving freely again.

A large crowd of onlookers gathered as the main street came to a standstill for a while.
