Good police work by the Ladysmith Tactical Response Team (TRT) has seen the arrest of a suspected drug dealer and two suspected business robbers.
During a stop-and-search operation conducted on Monday in the Egerton area, TRT officers stopped a vehicle and searched the driver. The search turned up a clear plastic packet containing what is suspected to be cocaine. A 35-year-old suspect was arrested for being in possession of an illegal substance.
The drugs are valued at around R1000 and will be sent to the Forensic Chemistry Lab for analysis.
The suspect appeared briefly in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court on the same day (March 2).
On the evening of the next day (Tuesday, March 3), the Ladysmith TRT assisted the Ladysmith Cluster Task Team in arresting two suspects believed to have been involved in a business robbery in Ezakheni E-Section on February 11.
The two, aged 20 and 30, are set to appear in the Ezakheni Magistrate’s Court soon.
