Top Gear fans, start your engines!

After recovering from the shocking news that Top Gear Live would not be held in Durban, South African fans can still expect a brilliant show.

It has officially been announced:

Top Gear Live is headed to Johannesburg and is set to take place from June 12 to June 14 at the Dome at Northgate.

This marks the first time the event has been hosted in Gauteng in four years.

As many true Top Gear fans would know, Johannesburg was the first city in which the show was staged outside of the United Kingdom, meaning in many ways the show will be returning to its second home.

Chief Operations Officer, James Cooke-Priest said the return to Johannesburg was filled with joy and excitement.

“We’re delighted to be able to bring Top Gear Live back to the dome, and have been overwhelmed by the support from previous partners, sponsors and ticket holders alike who have also welcomed the news,” he said.

The incredibly popular BBC show will hold fans at the brinks of their seats, as it will be fronted by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May. The show will include hair-raising stunts, some of the most beautiful cars in the world and the antics of the show’s humorous trio.

To ensure the show was even more entertaining, the 90 minute show is set to include exclusive, never before seen sequences.

Unlike previous years, Top Gear Live promised to thrill fans with an all-new format.

Guests attending the show will be treated to fantastic features, interactive experiences and a huge variety of brands showcasing their wares.  This combined with a soon-to-be-announced international motoring guest who will be joining in the festivities, makes it the only place to be on the weekend.

Tickets will be on sale from 20th March.
