BREAKING NEWS: Two high school pupils killed in collision
The fatality injured patients were two boys estimated ages being 16 and 17 years old.
For six school pupils, returning home this afternoon has utterly changed their lives, after a collision 10km outside of Ladysmith claimed two of their lives.
Paramedics from KZN Emergency Medical Services (EMS) have just completed at the scene of the collision, in which two bakkies collided, one carrying the pupils as passengers.
The crash occurred about 10km from Ladysmith in the towards Ezakheni.
The four surviving patients were treated by EMS on scene and have since been rushed to Ladysmith Porvincial Hospital for further treatment, with the help of other medical services.
EMS spokesperson, Robert Mckenzie explained the injuries of the children, “One patient was critically injured, two had been seriously injured and a fourth had sustained only minor injuries. It is believed one of the vehicles was transporting children from school.”
The fatally injured patients were two boys between 16 and 17 years old.
The cause of the crash is not known at this stage and is being investigated.
