A group of female ‘evil doers’ are doing the rounds, targeting drivers, mainly truck drivers. The females, according to a police report, pose at hitchhikers, seeking a lift from Mooi River to either Estcourt or Ladysmith. But this is not their only intention, as police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mabaso explains: “They will hike from Mooi River to Estcourt and when the driver stops at the point they want to be dropped off, a group of men will appear and hijack and rob the truck and driver.” Lt Col Mabaso sends a warning to drivers to refrain from stopping for hitchhikers, saying it could result in murder.
