ON SATURDAY, March 14, Landbou School took part in the Eshowe Winter Sport Festival which was held in Eshowe.
Teams saw the dawn break en route to Eshowe, where a lovely day was spent competing with other schools and testing their strengths. The sports that learners participated in were rugby, netball and hockey. The Rugby first team managed to win third place overall in the tournament. The netball teams played four matches and the hockey teams participated in eight matches. Games were played in good spirit, even though there were minor incidents and visits to the emergency room. All is well with said patients.
Trying trials for Tuesday: Landbou would like to congratulate two of their learners, Qhawelethu Thabede and Ncebe Shoba for making it through the rugby trials, for the Vryheid u/16 team. They will make their way to Dundee to compete for the Northern Natal Team, which also took place in this past week.
Another wicked Wednesday: As sport plays an integral part of the culture of the school it is no wonder that the bus would set to the road again on Wednesday, March 18. Heading in the direction of Pongola, teams participating in rugby, netball and hockey. Rugby first team 10-25, u/14 14-15. Netball first team 11-14 and u/14 6-12. The hockey teams also played a remarkable game, first 0-1 and second 1-3. A special word of appreciation to all the sport teams for their wonderful team spirit and the positive energy that they bring to the field. Keep up the good work.
Landbou is very proud of three of the 50 learners that qualified to enter for round two of the Mathematics Olympiad: Thandokuhle Gama (Gr 11), NombusoMchunu (Gr 12) and Bandile Simelane (Gr 12).
Landbou Open Day: All those interested in attending the open day at Landbou High School, must keep in mind that the open day will be held on May 23. Landbou welcomes all interested parties.
