Crazy for crossfit

With a motto of eat, train and gain, the DA-XA Body5000 crossfit competition will once again take the Vodacom Newcastle Winter Festival by storm on April 30.

When life knocks you down, do a burpee.

With a motto of eat, train and gain, the DA-XA Body5000 crossfit competition will once again take the Vodacom Newcastle Winter Festival by storm on April 30.

Crossfit combines weight and cardio training, making a new muscle hurt every day. Participating athletes will have to prove they are worth their weight in gold, with no place to hide their weakness.

The competition was organised by fitness guru, Leon van Staden. Mr van Staden has been consistent in improving on the competition and its format since its inception into the festival line-up. This year will be no exception.

The brand new course will put contestants through their paces, both physically and mentally.

There will be an individual and team format on the day of the event. Each team member will have to take on a different stage, giving it their all in the hopes of being crowned the fittest team in town.

Come out and support those brave enough to step up to the plate and sweat it out in the name of fitness.

Whether you are in it for the win or the bragging rights that come with it, the event will definitely be one for the history books.

The competition is set to take place from 4pm to 7pm in the main arena. Do not miss out!
