LAST week our first team and our u/11 rugby team took part in the Pongola Rugby Week.

Ndumiso Dludla received the trophy for the best backline player of the tournament. Of all the u/13 teams, the first team of NRS scored the most tries. Eventually NRS was placed second in the tournament. Congratulations!

Hockey: From March 26 to 28, our first team took part in a girls’ hockey tournament in Utrecht. The results were as follows (NRS scores first): against Glencoe 10-0, Michaelis 0-0, Paulpietersburg 0-2, Utrecht 1-3 and in the finals against Utrecht 0-4. NRS was placed second in the tournament. Well done, girls! Thank you to Mr R Greyling and Miss C Cloete who accompanied them.
School Governing Body election: On Wednesday, March 25, our parents turned up in their numbers to vote for their representatives. The following parents were elected: Mrs S Paruk, Mrs M Zungu, Mr B Zulu, Mrs M van Greuning, Mr C Mattison and Mr S van Greuning. We wish them well for their term of office.
Road safety: Last week a Grade 1 learner from NRS was run over by a car in Utrecht Street after school. Despite the fact that the school regularly alerts the children on road safety, we also appeal to parents and taxi drivers to remind the children not to run across the street from behind a vehicle. Children should only cross the street at the stop signs.
We wish our learners and their parents a blessed Easter and a happy holiday. Please drive safely.
