Alleged molester riles up community

Social media was abuzz regarding the suspect's actions and many residents pledged their support for the mother at court

The case of the suspect accused of molesting school children in Newcastle was postponed.

Due to the non-appearance of his legal representative last week Thursday, he was remanded until April 12.

A concerned mother said, “I want to get a good look at this man so that I can scream bloody murder if I ever see him near my child’s school again!”

Social media was abuzz regarding the suspect’s actions and many residents pledged their support for the mother at court, but on the day she cut a lone figure.

Previously, charges linking the suspect to another case of alleged molestation had been dropped and the suspect had allegedly been undergoing psychiatric treatment.

Informants regarding the cases are requested to contact Constable du Plessis on 034 314 6177.
