Professor to ‘school’ Newcastle on kwaito

Hailing from Umlazi, Durban, Mkhonzeni Professor Langa is a kwaito/producer signed under Kalawa Jazmee Records.
In 1996, the kwaito extraordinaire moved to Johannesburg in the hopes of fulfilling a lifelong dream.
In 2003, he teamed up with Tzozo, who had already become a household name. Tzozo and Professor single-handedly changed the face of the South African music industry and more importantly, the local dance scene.
Professor went on to release his first solo album, the University of Kalawa Jazmee. This came soon after featuring alongside artists such as Big Nuz, Trompies, Oskido, Spikiri and Alaska.
His albums won numerous awards, including Male Artist of the Year and the MTN Record of the Year.
As he promotes his new album, Professor has fast become one of the music industry’s biggest talents.
