AFTER great anticipation, the time had finally come – the Miss and Mr Mthashana 2015 Vryheid Campus pageant, for both Business and Engineering.

This exciting event took place on March 13 at the Engineering Campus’ Hall. Whilst the 20 excited models were backstage, getting ready for this prestigious event, the judges were busy preparing for the big and difficult task assigned to them. A big thank you to the judges, Mrs N Khumalo, Mrs Kirsten and Mrs van der Waldt, for taking the time to assist Mthashana with this event.

The participants competed in three categories, namely casual wear, swim wear and formal wear.

The female category consisted out of 16 participants: Hlengiwe Khaba, Khethi Khumalo, Nomalungelo Mahaye, Sbonokuhle Maphanga, Snenhlanhla Mathenjwa, Jabulisile Mavimbela, Nokubonga Mbatha, Nokwazi Mbatha, Lihle Mdluli, Thabile Mngadi, Tumi Motloung, Zama Mthethwa, Princess Nene, Dudu Ngema, Qondile Sibiya and Marinique van der Colff.

The Male category had four participants, namely Bongani Magwaza, Avuyile Mkanzi, Phila Ndlovu and Mpendulo Nkabinde.

Even though it was a tough decision, for all participants looked beautiful, a decision had to be made, based on certain criteria. And the results were: 2nd Prince was Mpendulo Nkabinde, the 1st Prince was Avuyile Mkanzi and Mr Mthashana of 2015 for Vryheid Campus was Phila Ndlovu.

In the ladies gategory, the 2nd Princess was Dudu Ngema, 1st Princess was Zama Mthethwa and Miss Mthashana of 2015 for Vryheid Campus was Marinique van der Colff.

There were also the Best Dressed winners, and these were Bongani Magwaza and Thabile Mngadi. Congratulations to you all.

A special thanks for the organisers, Mrs Schönborn and Mrs Mvubu, as well as for the help of Miss Ndebele. Without the help of Mrs Kroukamp, this event would not have been possible.

Thank you DJ Chicks, who helped on such short notice, for your excellent service.

A big thank you to the beautiful models, it takes guts walking the plank. You should be proud of yourselves. Thank you Mr Schönborn, for taking photos. Last but not least, thank you to everyone who assisted without any hesitation. Vryheid Campus is still the A-Team.
